今天聽說 Windows Live Messenger(WLM) 8.5 正式版已經釋出，但在微軟繁中官方網頁仍還是掛著「8.5 搶鮮版」伴隨著這次的更新，還有其他軟體如 Windows Live Writer、Live Mail、影像中心…等等軟體，也一併推出新版本，已經可以下載來玩玩看囉，不過並沒有看到有什麼特別的新功能。而且 WLM 8.5 中整合了多種的功能，但筆者依然只願意使用 MSN 的功能，其它整合的功能對筆者現階段而言都變成了負擔。

在 WLM 8.5 Installer Pack 中包含了 Windows Live Messenger 在內的六套免費軟體。表列如下：
